Colombia, Venezuela hold key talks in post-Maduro visit

In the first visit by a foreign head of state to Caracas following the ouster of Nicolas Maduro, Colombian President Gustavo Petro met Venezuelan acting President Delcy Rodriguez to agree on bilateral military cooperation targeting cross-border organized crime including drug trafficking, illegal mining, and human trafficking in the shared Catatumbo region. The two leaders also reached agreements to expand bilateral trade, implement electricity and gas interconnection projects to address blackouts in western Venezuela, and set up intelligence and information sharing mechanisms between security agencies.
